Our hotel is located just a few steps away from the beautiful Nungwi beach with white and offers many water-sport activities during the day and a lively party scene in the evening. Kendwa Beach is located 10mins drive away from our hotel. A beautiful wide sandy beach with turquoise waters and a wide range of activities. Popular with tourists and locals mainly because of its party atmosphere in the evening and good daytime water sports. Moreover, Zanzibar's relaxed lifestyle is not neglected here and you can relax wonderfully with a massage or in the hammock. Those who wish for a lonely walk will find some deserted corners to the south, where a beautiful sunset can be enjoyed in a romantic atmosphere
The beach is ideal for a variety of water sports, especially kitesurfing, diving or snorkelling. Especially the snorkeling tours to Mnemba Island are very popular with tourists. Many of the beach bars that can be found here also have beach volleyball facilities, which are mainly used by international guests. If you prefer to relax during the day, however, there are many sun loungers and hammocks in which you can enjoy a massage or a fruity cocktail in your hand. If you also have a weakness for romantic sunsets, you are in good hands on this beach.
Nungwi Turtles Aquarium
Just a 5min drive from the hotel, the Mnarani Marine Turtle Conservation Pond is a community based NGO established in 1993 as an effort to conserve the population of sea turtles native to Zanzibar island. The Stone Town based Eco & Culture Tours NGO was the initiator of this project, and empowered the local villagers to take this conservation initiative into their own hands.
$5 entrance fee. The Mnarani Aquarium offers a chance for the non divers to see and feed turtles. The turtles swim in a natural coral pool.
Nungwi Fish Market
The local fishermen leave for their night fishing around 4pm everyday, dotting the horizon with tens of dhows and their white-sails. Its just a gorgeous moment that you would want to make sure you have your camera for.
The next morning at around 6.30 to 7am, the fisherman are back with their catch of all shapes and sizes. See fish and sea creatures you have never seen before on the market ready for sale. Watch as the locals bid for the best catch, or if you feel like cooking, try to snag a tuna or snapper for grilling.
The closest sunset cruises from the hotel start from Nungwi Beach which is located only a few steps away from the hotel.
Everyday at around 16:30 to 18:30 you can enjoy a sunset cruise organised locally. The locals will entertain you with some drums and songs. It is the perfect way to finish your day.
Nungwi is a small village that you can walk around and locals are used to seeing many tourist everyday.
Buy some fruit, painting and souvenir from the local shops in the village main road.
Please be advised that when going to the village you should keep your shoulders and knees covered to respect the local culture.
Volleyball & Football
Every day at the beach of Nungwi Inn Hotel which is locted steps away from our hotel, around 17:00. Locals and tourist are playing till sunset. Everyone is welcome!! As well, football is a common game played on the beach by locals. You can just join in and have some fun!
Kendwa Rocks, 10mins drive from the hotel.
If you are looking for a crowded party this is obviously the place. Every Saturday from 22:00 until the morning. It is located in Kendwa Beach.
FULL MOON parties started off with traditional NGOMA drum&dance groups on the white sandy ground of Kendwa, where guests used to join with performers in African style. As bar life started developing (our tiny bar was the first to open in 1998), DJs became popular. DJ Yussuf (UK/Zbar) was favorite for many years with his world music oriented Routes in Rhythm.
